The OUHK Testing and Certification Programme STEM Workshop for Secondary School Teachers

A professional Biotechnology concentrated STEM training was held by the OUHK Science Department on 27 Oct. All of our Science teachers participated in it in order to learn more about the Biotechnology development nowadays and master the Biotechnology laboratory skills. This training helps to facilitate our school's Science teaching and provide a high-quality teaching to our students.

Our teachers were concentrated on the introduction of the STEM workshop (Biotechnology concentration). They were listening very carefully about the procedures and the principles behind the DNA experiment.
The helpers from the OUHK were introducing different common equipment needed in Biotechnology laboratory. Our teachers were trying to master the adjustable micropipet.
Our teachers were practising the pipetting skills by aliquoting different DNA samples into different labelled microcentrifuge tubes as well as pipetting restriction enzymes into each tube containing DNA samples of the crimes.
Our teachers were loading the ready DNA samples into the walls of the agarose gel for Gel Electrophoresis under the supervision of the Assistant Professor from the OUHK.
Our teachers learnt a lot and had lots of fun with other teachers from other secondary schools during the workshop. They enjoyed it so much.
