National Security Education Day dated 15th April

In order to let students know more about the National Security Law, a series of activities was held in April this year for the National Security Education Day dated 15th April. A National Security Education lesson was held on 14th and 21st April for S1 and S2 classes respectively. For S3 students, a lesson about the National Constitution was held on 28th April. In the lessons, a video clip about the National Security Law or the National Constitution was played with a Q&A game followed.

CGC Careers Activity (A Day in the Life of Arborists and Gardeners)

A group of Form 3 students was invited to join a career activity held by Po Leung Kuk Jockey Club Tai Tong Holiday Campsite. Different roles of arborists and gardeners, including the species of trees, planting and the experience of being a tree surgeon, were introduced to students. Our students were actively involved in the event and they realised the importance of preserving the nature.

Social Innovation.Community 4.0 Competition: Community Day

Two teams of students from Form 2 and Form 3 have joined the Social Innovation.Community 4.0 Competition. They need to design a solution to help improve the quality of life of elderly people living in the North District in Hong Kong. Students were trained by teachers from Liberal & Social Studies and STEM subjects, so that they can analyse the needs of the elderly from the social perspective and apply STEM-related skills in developing a prototype of their solutions.

Students are ready to introduce their innovations to the visitors.

Staff Development Day

The second staff development day was held on 8th and 26th February 2021. On 8th February, a Beeswax Food Wrap Workshop was conducted by Hong Kong Federation of Women's Centre. We can reduce plastic waste by making our own natural reusable food wraps with fabric and melted beeswax. These handy wraps can be made in a variety of shapes and sizes for sandwiches, bowl covers.

The vote counting session of the 9th Parent Manager Election

The vote counting session of the 9th Parent Manager Election was conducted on 4th February. The results are as follows:

Overall number of ballots received: 747

Number of voided ballots: 19

Number of blank ballots: 133

Number of ballots obtained by the candidates: 1. Ms. Yeung Po Yan: 368 2. Ms. Ng Yeuk Lan: 227

Teachers and Parents were waiting for the ballot counting.

CGC Careers Talk II

In order to help our S3 students and parents understand more about the subject choices under the NSS curriculum, a CGC Seminar for Parents and Students on Senior Secondary and Subject Selection was held by Career Guidance Committee (CGC). Teachers from PLK Vicwood K.T. Chong Sixth Form College were invited to our school to have a sharing with our students and parents.

Mr To, the teacher of SFC, is introducing the subject combination for the 2020-21 academic year.

Life Wide Learning Day - Visiting CAD Aviation Education Path and Hong Kong International Airport

On the Life-Wide Learning Day, students of classes 2D, 2E and 2F had a virtual visit to the CAD Education Path in the Hong Kong International Airport. This visit aims at enhancing students' knowledge about the history and development of Hong Kong International airport, aviation, including the Aviation history of Hong Kong, aircraft cabin design and safety features, Air Traffic Control (ATC) operations and introduction of common Aircraft models in Hong Kong. Students are able to understand the daily operation and the future development of the airport.

CAD Education Path in the CAD HQ

Theme of November (2020) in School Library – Chinese History and Culture

In order to promote Chinese history and culture to students, the library held a series of related activities last November. Apart from a book exhibition, the library organized an inter-class bookmark design competition. The competition requested each class to design a bookmark based on their awareness on Chinese traditional culture. Students showed their talent in drawing and making creative products. In the end, 1C, 2D and 3E won the competition with their outstanding bookmarks.

The 16th Alumni General Meeting

The 16th Alumni General Meeting was successfully held at our school on 15th Jan 2021. The event was held online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Our Principal, Mr. Wong Chung Ki, gave a welcome speech. Then Vice Chairperson of the Alumni, Mr. Li Chun Wai presented the annual report and budget report. This was followed by our Assistant Principal, Miss Leung, who presented the result of Alumni Manager Election on behalf of our Returning Officer of the 2021-2023 Alumni Manager Election, Mr. Lam Ka Ho.

The 16th Alumni Annual General Meeting was smoothly held on 15th Jan 2021.
