Reading Talk - Patrick Sir

On 12 December, the School Library invited Patrick Sir to deliver a talk about improving English to a group of students after school. Patrick Sir introduced 8 useful habits that help students improve their English, such as 'read and complete books', 'read or watch anything in English every day', and 'write every day' etc. Students enjoyed very much and learnt a lot from the talks.

The 8 habits from Patrick Sir are very useful for improving English.

Green School Talk

To equip the students with the knowledge of protecting the environment, a Green School Talk was organized on 11 December for form one to three students. Ms. Abby Huang of Ocean Park Conservation Foundation Hong Kong was invited to give a talk about the impact of plastics on the ocean.

The whole school students need to attend the talk to get equipped with more knowledge about environmental protection.

Theme of October and November (2019) in School Library – Chinese History and Culture (2)

In order to enhance the reading atmosphere in school, the library prepares a series of themed activities every two months. The theme of October and November in 2019 is 'Chinese History and Culture'. In the second month, the library and the Chinese Culture Club co-organized an activity called 'Chinese Fan Making'. Students enjoyed drawing and decorating the Chinese fans with their friends and showed their creativity and artistic talent.

The girl is getting inspiration from the books about Chinese painting.

F.2 School Picnic Day

The school picnic (F.2) was scheduled on November 1 this year. All Form 2 students went to Butterfly Beach Park on that day. Surrounded by the beautiful beach and trees, the barbecue site is a fantastic spot for students to enjoy the nature. The picnic provides a chance for both students and teachers to relax and spend time to chat with each other.

ECA session (Interest Class)

The ECA session (Interest class) started from 4th October, 2019. We have organized 14 Interest classes for students to develop their interests in non-academic aspects. They are Rope Skipping, Yoga, Jazz Funk, Bridge, Tea Culture, Korean, Spanish, Japanese, Magic, Model-making, Aerial Photography, Photography, Chinese/International Chess and Guitar Class. Different Interest classes provide a great opportunity for students to enrich their life, social experience and also to develop their potential in non-academic aspects.

Science Club Workshop II

Dr Ho, the Associate Professor, and three tutors from the Education University of Hong Kong held a Chemical Cells Workshop for our science club members on 6/11/2019.
Our students used some daily life materials, for example, sugar solution, salt solution, vinegar, and sports drink to test for their electrical conductivity.
Besides, they used ions solutions to make chemical cells. Our students were very excited to see the bulbs lit up.

Our students were listening to the explanations very patiently.

CGC S3 Seminar on 'Preparation on promoting to SFC'

In order to help our S3 students and parents understand more about promoting to PLK Vicwood K.T. Chong Sixth Form College (SFC), a CGC Seminar for Parents and Students on Promotion to SFC was held on 12 Nov, 2019. The Vice Principal, Ms Ng and the Careers Mistress, Ms Kwan from PLK Vicwood K.T. Chong Sixth Form College were invited to our school to have a sharing with our students and parents.

The Mills Visit

A visit which was held by History Club to The Mills was successfully held on 31st October. The Mills provided a brilliant guided tour for our members. The tour guide took us to look around the place with vivid descriptions of the history of the building. The tour was splendid and students had a deeper understanding on heritage preservation, urban revitalisation and Hong Kong manufacturing history.
