MCNEC Assembly Talk: Understanding the Importance of the National Security

With strong dedication to enhancing students' understanding of National Security, we invited Mr. Ho Kwan-yiu 何君堯先生 to be the speaker of our assembly talk for S1 students and parents. Throughout the talk, Mr.Ho Kwan-yiu 何君堯先生 explained key concepts of National Security, such as the Twenty Major Fields of National Security, and the Five Essential Elements of a Holistic Approach to National Security. The 21st Annual General Meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association

The 21st Annual General Meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association was held successfully on 1st November 2024. First of all, our Principal, Mr. Wong Chung Ki, gave all parents a warm welcoming speech to express his appreciation to the PTA for collaborating with the school last year. Then, the Chairperson of the 20th PTA, Miss Yeung Po Yan, presented the Annual Report. Next, the treasurer of the 20th PTA, Miss Kwan Tsui Man, presented the Financial Report.

The new Executive Committee Parent Members are formed! Principals, new Ex-co Parent Members, teachers and social workers are all invited to take a big photo!

Parent’s Educational Talk: “Am I ready to be a junior secondary school parent?”

In order to enable parents to understand their children’s growth and psychological needs in junior secondary school, and how to support their children emotionally, socially and academically, the school organized a talk delivered by an experienced social worker from Po Leung Kuk Student Guidance and Support Services on 1st November. The theme is about “Am I ready to be a junior secondary school parent?”.  Over 45 families participated in the talk, during which the parents gained more information about children caring and support.

The Life Education x Dog Therapy Volunteer Sharing Seminar

The Life Education x Dog Therapy Volunteer Sharing Seminar was held on October 22 for Form 1 students, organized by LOVE @ CANINE VOLUNTEER. Two working dogs, Fook and McQueen, visited our school. The seminar conveyed the message that life is precious and emphasized the importance of loving animals. Additionally, students learned safety precautions for interacting with dogs and had the opportunity for hands-on interactions with them. Both teachers and students greatly enjoyed the activity.

DGC Theme Week “Good Mood for School Start”

To help reduce students' mental stress related to starting the new school year, the Discipline and Guidance Committee worked with BGCA to held a Theme Week titled "Good Mood for School Start" on campus in late September 2024/2025. Various activities, such as busking, game booths, lunch broadcasts, and workshops, were organized to share effective methods for managing back-to-school stress with students.

The busking team "Garden Biscuits" performed encouraging songs for our students.

Wotagei Experience Workshop

To enhance students' sense of achievement and confidence, the Music Department and the Discipline and Guidance Committee held a Wotagei Experience Workshop. Through a combination of dazzling light arcs, choreography, and songs, students showcased their diverse abilities with glow stick dance performances.

Many students are interested in participating in the workshop.

Po Leung Kuk x CITIC CLSA Trust - Youth Mental Health Program "Chill Together" Mental Health Promotion Day

To help students alleviate their mental distress, a Music Interactive Sharing Session was held by Po Leung Kuk Youth Service during the assembly on October 14 for Form 3 students. The themes of "emotional expression” “sharing” and "companionship" aided students in understanding ways to enhance their mental health. Busking teams Monkey and Felix Chanter shared their experiences by performing their original songs. Students thoroughly enjoyed the session.
