A large-scale mathematics competition was held in May. And our maths team members participated in Hua Luo-Geng Cup, Creative Problem-Solving Competition and International Mathematical Olympiad Preliminary Selection Contest.
The Hualuogeng Gold Cup Junior Mathematical Invitational Tournament ("Hua Cup") is to commemorate the outstanding national mathematician Professor Hua Luogeng, a national large-scale juvenile mathematics competition initiated in 1986 by the China Youth Daily (now China Children's Press). China's Preferred Law, Coordination Law and Economic Mathematics Research Association, CCTV Youth Center, and other units jointly sponsored. The China Cup is the largest, most formal and most difficult game among primary schools in China Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong Mathematics Creative Problem Solving Competition for Secondary Schools is co-organized by the Education Bureau and Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers. The competition aims at identifying mathematically gifted students and providing them with opportunities to develop their mathematics creative problem-solving and collaboration skills.
The International Mathematical Olympiad Preliminary Selection Contest collaborates with the Education Bureau and the IMO (Hong Kong) Committee, The Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education hosts the annual event to select students with outstanding in mathematics.
