"Chinese gardening guided tour and History oral presentation by the elderly scheme" is a one-year scheme funded by EDB Quality Education Fund. In order to show the outcome of the scheme, our school held the Press Conference on 9th July, 2016 (Saturday) at Irene Yu Lecture Theater, Po Leung Kuk Tong Nai Kan Junior Secondary College. We were honoured to have Mr. Yeung Kin Chung Clifton, Principal Education Secretary of Po Leung Kuk to be the guest-of-honour of the Press Conference.
The Press Conference was attended by guests, including Dr. Leung Cho Nga, renowned scholar of Hong Kong History, Dr. Au Chi Kin, Assistant Professor of History Department, Hong Kong Shue Yan University, Mr. Leung Chiu Yin, Vice-principal of G.T. (Ellen Yang) College, Mr. Thomas Tsang and Ms. Chan from Wen Wei Po, Dr. Lee Poon Shing, Principal of Po Leung Kuk Vicwood K.T. Chong Sixth Form College and parents of our students.
After the opening address by Mr. Yeung Kin Chung Clifton, Principal Education Secretary of Po Leung Kuk, the guests were presented with the flag by Mr. Yeung to express our gratitude for their continuous support to our scheme. After that, Dr. Leung Cho Nga, Dr. Au Chi Kin and Mr. Leung Chiu Yin had their individual sharing session about their expertise in Chinese and local History. For the sharing sessions from our school about the scheme, we had Mr. Wong Chung Ki, the Principal to share the rationale of the whole scheme and Ms. Lau Pik Shan, the Vice-Principal of Po Leung Kuk Vicwood K.T. Chong Sixth Form College to share the implementation methods.
After that, Mr. Chan Hon Shing, head of Chinese History Department and Mr. Kwan Siu Ming, head of Integrated Science Department shared the outcome and their reflections of the scheme. There was also a performance session conducted by our school choir. Then, there was a session by Mr. Lo Lik Cheung, Chinese History Teaching Assistant, to present the contents of iBook, which is the final product of the scheme. Finally, Mr. Lo invited two students, Abbie Lo from Class 1P and Saeed Ali Hassan Bin Nadeem from Class 1E to share their learning experiences and reflection about the whole scheme.
