2019 Hong Kong Robofest competition

The Design and Technology Team attended The Hong Kong Robofest on 29/2 and 10/3. RoboFest is a festival of international competitions and events with autonomous robots that encourages students to have fun while learning principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) and Computer Science. Students design, construct, and program the robots. Finally, our DT Team won three awards including RoboArts -the first runner-up, Robo Exhibition - the first runner-up and ROBOParade - the second runner-up.

Joint School Motorcar Racing Competition 2019

The Design and Technology Department organised The Joint School Motorcar Racing Competition on 23/3/2019. The aims of organizing the Motorcar competition and workshop with autonomous robots were to encourage students to have fun while learning the principles of STEM.
9 schools and 40 students and parents participated in the workshop and the competition.

Parents and students attended the workshop before the competition.

Themed “Generation Gap? No Way!”, the Drama competition

Our Drama Team attended a drama competition organized by the Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) for secondary schools this academic year. The finale was held at the Chiang Chen Studio Theatre of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on Friday evening (15 March). There were over 200 participants including teachers, students, parents and guests.

Our Drama Team had great performances on conveying positive messages of cross-generation harmony.

Creativity Fortnight - English

The 'Write' House activity during the Creativity Fortnight has successfully completed. Students enjoyed working on bookmark making in a creative and 'poetic' way.

Maker Festival – “Rockin’ Robos” Workshop

At the TNK Maker Festival, the Science Department organized a 'Rockin' Robos' Workshop for students and guests.

CGC Parents’ Talk : ‘Post-secondary 3 Education Pathways other than SFC '

A Parents' Talk about 'Post-secondary 3 Education Pathways other than SFC' was held on 27 March, 2019 for all S3 students and parents. Ms Kitty Leung, the Education Consultant and Senior Lecturer from Vocational Training Council (VTC) provided information on different options of further studies for the S3 students.

Theme of March (2019) in School Library – Novel x Movie

In order to enhance the reading atmosphere in school, the library prepares a series of themed activities every month. 'Novel x Movie' is the theme of March 2019.

Library has prepared a lot of related novels for students.

Appreciating the Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra Music Concert

The Music Department has organized a concert appreciation of Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra for our students. In the concert, students listened to different styles of music in different musical periods. Students showed their enthusiasm on music. The school expected students could learn, enjoy and develop a habit of music appreciation.

Students were going to the Yuen Long Theatre.

Maker Fortnight - DNA Extraction Workshop

During the creativity fortnight event held by our school, a DNA Extraction workshop was carried out on 14th March 2019 in order to let our students have a first trial on Biotechnology. Students extracted DNA from strawberries themselves under student helpers' and teacher's supervision. It's a great opportunity for them to cultivate the interest on Biotechnology. Students were interested in the workshop and they enjoyed it so much.

One of our students acted as a teacher to give a brief introduction on DNA and lead our workshop smoothly. Students were focused on the introduction too.
