2021-22 Job Simulation (Classes 3A-3C)

In order to give students more exposure to different occupational duties, the 2021-22 Job Simulation Activity was held on 11th and 29th November 2021 respectively. Throughout the events, students learnt how to be real professionals, such as being doctors, interior designers, secretaries and accountants. The feedback was positive!

The instructor was teaching students basic principles of being a secretary who worked in a big company.

Health Talk (Healthy Sun Teen)

To educate students the positive value and attitude of selecting their friends, DGC and MCNEC organised a talk for all S2 classes. Mr Lee, a counsellor from Po Leung Kuk Student Support Team conducted a talk for our students. Through this talk, students have learnt about how to distinguish a real friend and a toxic friend. Students found the talk informative and interesting.

Food Science and Food Safety: “Rainbow noodles” DIY Workshop at Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi)

The Faculty of STEM arranged a visit to the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) for class 3E on Life-wide Learning Day (19th November 2021). Students attended the “Rainbow noodles” DIY Workshop organized by Dr. Emily Tam, to learn the knowledge of natural dye for food processing. Extraction of natural dye from food was demonstrated to students. Students were given an opportunity to make their own noodles in different colours. Dr. Tam also introduced the Bachelor programs of THEi about food science to the S3 students.

Dr Emily Tam gave a short briefing to students about the procedure of making "Rainbow noodles" in the Food Processing Laboratory.

Visit to Hong Kong History Museum on Life-Wide Learning Day

Department of Chinese History organised a visit to Hong Kong Museum of History for our students on the Life Wide Learning Day. The theme of the learning activity was the History of Hong Kong. The aim of the activity was to enrich students' knowledge of the history of Hong Kong. Without doubt, the students have gained a valuable opportunity in understanding the recent history of Hong Kong through this visit.

Dr. Chan Hong Sing, Miss Siu Wing Ngan, Miss Lu  and Mr. Lau Kin Fai took a photo with the students in the exhibition hall of the Museum.

'Tai Kwun: Heritage and Arts' Learning Activity (by Integrated Humanities - History and Geography Department)

To educate students about the historical development of Hong Kong and help them develop a concept on sustainable development, and apply them in new situations and contexts, the departments of Integrated Humanities- History and Geography organised a visit to 'Tai Kwun' on Life-Wide Learning Day. Through this learning activity, students have had a deeper understanding not only about the importance of heritage conservation, but also the views, beliefs and values of different societies at different times.

English Drama Activity (Life-Wide Learning Day)

The Life-Wide Learning Day was successfully held on 19th November, 2021. In The English Drama Activity, native English-speaking tutors came to the College, and had interactive speaking practices with students of class 2A, 2B and 2C. In the 3-hour activity, students were highly engaged in practising drama skills in English. All of them were motivated and attentive.

A student was eager to be the volunteer and to guess the Leader in the warm up game called “Guess who the leader is”.

Chinese Traditional Performing Arts Show

Members of the Visual Arts Team and the Chinese Orchestra participated in the Chinese Traditional Performing Arts Show organised by Sham Shui Po West Area Committees on 13 November 2021. The aim was to promote Chinese traditional performing arts through a variety of performances. Our Visual Arts Team members were doing the paper cutting while the Chinese orchestra members were performing guzheng. The handcraft matched with the theme of the songs.

Miss Leung, our teacher-in-charge of the Visual Arts Team, is receiving a certificate from the organiser.

The School Book Fair

The School Book Fair was held on 16th and 17th November 2021. A wide range of books were showcased at The School Book Fair. All students were interested in reading books. Some students were keen to purchase their favourite books. The School Book Fair encourages students to broaden their horizons through books.

Students were excited to read their favourite books.

CGC Career Talk

In order to help our S3 students and parents understand more about promoting to PLK Vicwood K.T. Chong Sixth Form College (SFC), a CGC Seminar for Parents and Students on Promotion to SFC was held by the Career Guidance Committee (CGC). The Vice Principal, Ms Ng and the Careers Master, Mr Chan from PLK Vicwood K.T. Chong Sixth Form College were invited to our school to have a sharing with our students and parents.

Ms Ng, the Vice-principal of SFC, is giving an introduction about SFC.
