The second term book fair was organized by the school library from 7 February to 8 February, 2018. We aimed at cultivating reading habits among students and establishing an atmosphere of reading at school. Different kinds of books were displayed, such as fiction, novel and biography etc. Students could enjoy and read the books that they liked. The book fair was a great success since many students came and participated in the event.
In order to enhance the reading atmosphere in the school, the library organizes a series of theme-based activities every month this year. The fourth theme of this year is Fantasy Literature. The library has prepared many books of fantasies for our students. For example, "Harry Potter", "The Lord of the Rings", "The Chronicles of Narnia" etc. The library has also perpared a Q&A worksheet so as to encourage students to read more and know more. It was great that many students got all correct answers for the worksheet.
In order to enhance the reading atmosphere in the school, the library organizes a series of theme-based activities every month this year. The fifth theme of this year is the Chinese Culture. We mainly focus on promoting the traditional culture and customs of the Chinese New Year.
The 2017 -2018 Student Exchange Programme was successfully co-organized by our school and Madam Lau Kam Lung Secondary School of Miu Fat Buhhdist Monastery during the period of 6 February - 9 February, 2018. 5 Secondary 2 female students from each school participated in the programme this year and they all experienced a 4-day study programme in a 'new' school.
MCNEC organized the "Love Our City" - Mini Forum during lunch recess on 7 February 2018. This provides a great chance for students to express their views on the topic "Should priority seats be mandated by law in Hong Kong?"
To raise funds for further strengthening of the multi-faceted services, the Annual Charity Walk was organized by Po Leung Kuk on Saturday, 27 January 2018.
A seminar about 'NSS and Subject Selection' was held on 1 February, 2018 for all S3 students and parents. Ms Ng, the Vice Principal of SFC, Ms Chan, Mr Tam and Mr Lau of SFC gave an introduction of electives to be offered in 2018-19 academic year.
In order to broaden the horizon of our students, the Career and Guidance Committee has organized a Career Talk for Form 2 students. Three engineers from the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers gave an inspiring talk to our students. All students enjoyed the talk and they have learnt more about the industry.
