CGC Job Guessing Event 2

In order to enrich students’ knowledge about different careers, another job guessing event was held on 22nd December, 2021. Some interesting job guessing riddles were introduced to students during the morning assembly period. Students had to figure out the correct occupations after reading some Keynote slides. Students’ feedback was very positive as they thought the riddles were interesting!

Whole School Community Service Learning (Class 2D and 2F)

To facilitate positive development and unleash potential of our students, Class 2D and 2F participated in a Service Learning Activity on 3 January, 2022. It was a precious experience for our students to interact with the elderly from Evangelical Free Church of China Social Service Limited – Mei Foo Elderly Centre. Both the elderly and our students had a great time via the activities. At the end of the activity, the elderly taught our students to make a paper lantern with some red packets.

A talk on sex education by MCNEC

A talk on sex education about online traps was organised by the Moral, Civic and National Education Committee on 21 December 2021 during the assembly. The objective of the talk was to encourage students to be careful of online dating traps. A guest speaker from Hong Kong Catholic Marriage Advisory Council was invited to deliver the talk for us.

The talk was held in the school hall with epidemic prevention measures.

Whole School Community Service Learning (Class 2B and 2C)

To facilitate positive development and unleash potential of our students, Class 2B and 2C participated in a Service Learning Activity on 22 December, 2021. It was such a valuable opportunity for our students to work with the elderly from Evangelical Free Church of China Social Service Limited – Mei Foo Elderly Centre. Through the activities, our students have had a great time with the elderly. The elderly also taught our students how to make a paper Christmas tree.

Learning & Teaching Expo 2021

Our school participated in the Learning & Teaching Expo 2021 held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 8 - 10 December. During the 3-day exhibition, we displayed our achievements in Biotechnology and STEM education. Many visitors from different schools and other education-related industries came to our booth. Many of them were particularly interested in the superworm research conducted by our biotech research team.

Motorcar workshop and visit to 5G Lab @ SKY100 (Lifewide Learning Day)

The Faculty of STEM has arranged a STEM Motorcar Workshop and a visit to 5G Lab @ SKY100 for 2 classes of Form 3 students on the Lifewide Learning Day. In the Motorcar Workshop, students needed to work together and assemble a motor car. They then tested the performance of the car using different tyres. Students learnt about how friction works in racing in their experiments. Students also visited the 5G Lab @ SKY100 Hong Kong.

Whole School Community Service Learning (Class 2A and 2E)

To facilitate positive development and unleash potential of our students, Class 2A and 2E participated in a Service Learning Activity on 17 December, 2021. They have had a chance to work with the elderly from Evangelical Free Church of China Social Service Limited – Mei Foo Elderly Centre. Through the activity, our students have learnt how to communicate and work with the elderly. The elderly also taught our students some exercise which is good for their health.

3-Day Biotechnology Tasting Programme for PLK Chee Jing Yin Primary School

The first 3-Day Biotechnology Tasting Programme for PLK Chee Jing Yin Primary School was successfully held on 20, 27 November and 4 December 2021. Our students are responsible for introducing and teaching the primary school students how to conduct experiments. The programme includes the introduction of Biotechnology, micro-organisms, DNA & RNA, DNA electrophoresis and the theory of DNA fingerprinting, which is widely used in forensic science. All the primary school students and our student helpers enjoyed this activity.

Our student helpers and students from PLK Chee Jing Yin Primary School were very happy to participate in the 3-Day Biotechnology Tasting Programme.

2021-22 Admission Talk

To introduce the latest development of Tong Nai Kan Junior Secondary College to parents and students from primary schools, an admission talk was arranged on 11 December 2021. Apart from the talk, the school also offered a glimpse of different facilities by having a VR school tour with parents. There were lots of visitors and many of them showed interest in our school!
